Mapping Twitter

I am trying some Twitter mapping tools suggested by Mashable in this post. Trendsmap is quite useful for a journalist, if you are writting about an important topic mentioned on Twitter (for some reason, there’s nothing on my state):

Trendsmap: some topics on South America in this afternoon

Stweet shows the last tweet in the city you choose and from where it was posted – with Google Street View (like in Paris, Birmingham etc) or Google Maps (like in Porto Alegre). Mmmeeja can show the locations of people that you follow on Twitter – one of the most interesting, but didn’t work when I tried. :/

  1. Hi Melissa,

Since my twitter map got featured on Mashable, it’s been really popular so sometimes it has exceeded the usage limits set by Yahoo Pipes and the Twitter API (the technologies behind the map).

I’d urge you to try again in a few hours or days when the current excitement has died down. Feel free to get in touch with any questions.

    • Thanks for the comment, Andy. However, I tried again today and still didn’t work properly – it gives a message like “Please await”. I’m going to try once more in a few days. Cheers!
