Winterbourne Garden

It’s springtime in the United Kingdom! Not warm enough for myself, but the gardens are looking gorgeous nowadays. We went to the Winterbourne House and Garden, Birmingham, by the end of May – a place not well known as the Botanical Gardens, but I guess this gives it a calmer atmosphere perhaps. Actually, we need to come back to visit the house, as we spent all our time in the garden in a lovely sunny day. Great place for photos at this time of the year:

Social media collaborations

Social media managers have been sharing some photos I took, related to their services. The most recent was the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter page on Facebook, which share some of my pics from the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter (check more on Flickr).

Last year, the Sherborne Wharf page on Facebook shared a post I wrote about the Birmingham canals (one of my favourite attractions in this city), with pictures I took for the Birmingham {Viewpoint} project.

Tintagel Castle, Cornwall

The most beautiful place I have ever been in England: Tintagel Castle, Cornwall.

It is the place where (supposedly) King Arthur was born. According to the legend, the Merlin’s cave is there!

There are only ruins left of the castle. However, the landscape is so beautifully dramatic! I couldn’t stop taking pictures until I realised I already had repetead images. I went up both hills, but was too tired to get down, to the beach, and further – what obviously make me feel like going there again. Do spend a whole day there if you’d like to explore all corners (I went for an afternoon only).

See my photos below (more on Flickr) and… mind the steps!

Westons Cider, mill tour - Photo: Melissa Becker

Cider mill tour

We joined the cider mill tour at Westons Cider, in Ledbury, Herefordshire, on the 8th June. Good opportunity for photos!

First, we tried to visit a vineyard in Upton on Severn on that morning, but tours must be arranged in advanced. Fortunately, Westons Cider has a Visitor Center, with three tours during the day (at least, during that day). The visit lasts one hour  and costs £7 per person, including tasting (I’ve tried at least five types of ciders and perry!) and a little gift at the end of the tour.

99 days to go - Photo: Melissa Becker

99 days to go

I am some days late to post it now – but I like this photo anyway.

I couldn’t be in London when the 100 days to go for the Olympics games was celebrated, but voila: I was there one day later. By coincidence, to be honest. And that cloud, ah, it was there only at 99 days, 7 hours, 48 minuts and 7 seconds to go. British weather!
